The Sopranos are an Italian-American family who's father Tony is a mob boss and so The Sopranos has a very strong gangster theme. It is based around the family though and so is not thoughtless violence with storylines that include the whole family and a whole range of other family members and work colleagues.

Tony's work colleagues are some very interesting characters though and as you can imagine The Sopranos features some very violent moments but they are brilliantly done and offer a realistic insight into mob culture.

The Sopranos features around 13 episodes per season and there are six seasons and each can be bought as a DVD box set online easily. The episodes are quite long with most being nearly an hour and the DVD's usually have around 3-4 episodes on the discs and so each box set usually has around 4 discs.

The Sopranos DVD Box sets are also of a very high quality with the first season being quite old now but still looking superb sue to the exceptional production standards that they use.
