The Simpsons
The Simpsons is the most successful animated series ever and is wonderful entertainment for young and old. This is because it appeals to kids because it has some great characters and is funny but adults will also love the humour and it also features some great family values and so is brilliant to watch as a family.
The Simpsons has been running for many years and has hundreds of episodes and so there is a huge amount of entertainment available. You will have more than likely seen it on the television as it has been on BBC2, Channel4 and Sky One and plays a large part of the UK television schedule as it is so well loved.
The Simpsons features a family of that name which are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie and Homer is usually the central character although the other family members are also heavily featured. Marge usually has the hopeless mission of controlling the family while Homer is the dumb but oh-so loveable and funny dad who gets into all sorts of trouble and mischief. Bart is the bad boy of the family who also loves to get into as much mischief as possible and Lisa is a very well behaved and intelligent daughter who is slightly younger than Bart but much more successful at school. These is then Maggie who although unable to talk still plays a considerable role in many of The Simpsons storylines.
An episode of The Simpsons lasts for around 20 minutes with each DVD usually having around 8 episodes, each box set usually has around four DVD's and so each box set has lots of The Simpsons episodes. They also have a wide range of special features such as commentaries, documentaries and deleted scenes and these can give a great insight into the wonderful world of The Simpsons.
